Pensacola Quilt guild 2017 Challenge

“Starry, Starry Black and White”

1. Challenge quilts are due at the October meetings and will presented at both November meetings as a mini quilt show. Voting will take place and prizes will be awarded. Prize winning quilts from the 1st meeting can be hung at the 2nd meeting but will be illegible for additional prizes. Pleases bring your quilt in a bag.

2. The finished size must between 36-40” square.

3. You must use a recognizable portion of the focal fabric provided by the Guild. It does not have to be used more than once. Additional focal fabric (limited) is available.

4. There must be at least one star included on the front. the star can be any design and size, i.e. Ohio Star, Wonky Star, Friendship Star, etc. It does not need to be a Feathered Star.

5. You will also pick an accent color paint chip. This color will need to occur at least once on the front. You can use multiple fabrics as long as they maintain strictly to the color of the paint chip (no wide value changes.)

6. You can use any additional black and white fabrics as desired. You can use solid white and/or solid black. (If some of you don’t have a large selection of B&W fabric we may want to arrange for a fabric swap between those interested).

7. These quilts will be hung as a special exhibit at the 2018 Quilt Show! They will be judged as a group but you are welcome to have your quilt judged in another category.

8. To recap: 1 – Use focal furnished focal fabric 2 – Include a star on the front 3 – Use your accent color.
