Gulf Coast Art Festival
November will be here before we know it, and with the crisper, cooler days comes our local annual arts extravaganza otherwise known as the Great Gulfcoast Arts Festival.
For those of you who may be new, the Pensacola Quilt Guild has historically been honored with an invitation to showcase the art of quilting as a featured ‘heritage art’ at the festival. We will be manning a booth throughout the three-day event.
At the Festival, we are granted an opportunity to sell articles representative of our art both as boutique items and as consignment pieces. Traditionally, a guild represents mastery of workmanship and it is this mastery which we are privileged to showcase. We hope to include quilted items of all shapes and sizes – from I-pod holders, handbags, table runners, baskets, and Christmas stockings to bed quilts and wall-hangings made by all of our talented quilters. If you are short on inspiration, current quilting magazines can be a great source for what is ‘hot’ and what is ‘now.’
Since our yearly dues fall woefully short of operating expenses, the Pensacola Quilt Guild makes up the short-fall with the occasional fund-raiser, and the Boutique at the GGAF is one of them. So we need you one and all, and ask that everyone donate two items to a worthy cause!
