2012 OPPORTUNITY QUILT WORK DAY
On Friday, August 13 we will meet at the Azalea Room in Baptist Medical Park on the corner of University Parkway and Nine-Mile Road to work on sewing the sections of the Opportunity Quilt for the 2012 Quilt Show. All guild members are welcome to attend and help out. Most of the sewing involves paper foundation piecing. I have the room booked from 8:00-5:00, and I will be there that entire time. You can come for whatever portion of the day you are available. There are several nearby restaurants (Waffle House, Chick-Fil-A, Firehouse Subs, Hardees, Shanghai Buffet) or you can certainly pack a lunch.
Please bring your sewing machine and whatever supplies you need to paper foundation piece (needles, thread, seam ripper, etc…) You do not need to bring an iron as we will have several available. The colors of fabric are rather dark, so a medium-colored thread would be best. White would not be a good color choice for thread. Also, if you have an extension cord, that might come in handy as all of the outlets are on one side of the room.
Please call me if you have any questions. I know you’ll want to take advantage of this chance to be part of making this quilt that is sure to be a stunner!
