Pensacola Quilters Guild Consignment Procedure Guidelines:

Consigners must be members in good standing. Membership must be current, dues paid.

Items for consignment should feature actual quilting, piecing or appliqué.

Items should be clean and free of obvious flaws, showing good craftsmanship.

Consigners are limited to 2 large quilts, 3 medium, 5 baby quilts or quillows and 5 medium items (aprons, placemat sets, purses, etc.)

An unlimited number of small items may be consigned, but limited to no more than 10 of any one type. Price items reasonably. Consider the present market locally.

Prices should reflect time and talent. Consigners price each irem and complete Consigner’s Worksheet to accompany their consignments when turning in to the Quilt Show or Greater Coast Arts Festival. (See steps below.)

Consigning members are to work for 1 shift during the Show or Festival to obtain a price of 10% due the Guild. Members not working one quilt show shift will pay 25% of their sales to the Guild. Member physical support of the shows is so important!

Procedures:

Step 1 – Maintain membership. Obtain a Consignment Worksheet from Boutique Chairperson, at monthly Guild meetings or in the Guild Library during 2 months prior to Show or Festival Dates. Check to see if the Guidelines and Worksheets are available at PQG website. All consignments MUST have accompanying completed worksheet day of turn in.

Step 2 – Complete and check items for readiness for display. The better items look; the better they sell!

Step 3 – Fill out Consignment Worksheet columns with: Quantity and description of each item. Price – the price the consigner wants to receive when item is sold. Guild amount – 10% ( or 25%, if not working one shift of the Show or Festival) which is what the Guild receives for having consigned items in the Boutique.

ADD the Consigner’s Price and the Guild markup for TAXABLE TOTAL. Tax is 7.5%...Figure tax amount by multiplying the taxable total by .075. Add this amount to the taxable total to get the TOTAL RETAIL price. Round (up or down) the TOTAL RETAIL price to the nearest 25 cents. THIS is the price to place on the SALES TAG consigner places on the item.

SIGN the Worksheet

NOTE: Be advised that by signing the Consignment Worksheet, you are agreeing to the disclaimer statement at the bottom of the sheet.

Step 4 – Make a tag for each item consigned. Include An ID number ( consigner’s name or initials PLUS consignment number from the Worksheet…( Marge Brown = MB5 or Marge’s 5th item from the worksheet) Price of item from the Worksheet (see step 3 above) Size : S,M,L. Tag each item using a tag with a string attached with small gold safety pins.

Step 5 – Pack all item in rainproof plastic bins labeled with consigner’s name.

Step 6 – Bring items in bin and with Worksheet completed, between 10 AM and noon on Thursday, March 15, 2012, to the Boutique booth, Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds, venue for the Show. Items will be consigned only during this time.

Step 7 – After the Show, pick up unsold items at the booth on Saturday, March 17, 2012, between 4 PM and 4:30 PM.

Step 8 – Consignment Checks should be ready at the April Guild Meeting. AND Enjoy those proceeds…more quilting supplies, maybe?
