Patti Struck
will teach us how to make three types of Dresden Plate blocks with numerous variations including a Grandmother’s Fan block. The class is designed for beginners interested in learning to make a Dresden Plate block or for an experienced quilter who would like to experiment with Dresden Plate blocks. Patti will be showing samples she has created for this class at the various meetings. Check them out and get inspired.

Supply List:
12 fabric strips cut 5 inches wide by WOF, ironed and starched. This will allow you to make a 12-inch block. Small prints, tone on tone prints, or solids are recommended. Coordinate your fabrics or go for a scrappy look. Take time to study the photos above and make a note of what fabrics you might select from your stash. If you plan to make larger blocks, you will need 8-inch strips by width of fabric.
five 6-inch squares for center circles. If you plan on making a larger Dresden Plate, you will need a larger square
1 yard of background fabric. If you plan to make a larger Dresden Plate, you will need more material.
•  1 yard of lightweight fusible interfacing
Dresden ruler/template. If you don’t wish to purchase one, let Patti know and she will make you a cardboard template.
6-inch by 12-inch ruler or larger
rotary cutter and small/medium cutting mat
iron—a small one to use at your table would work great.
There will be PQG irons for group use.
  fabric and paper scissors
