Improv Piecing Using Scraps
Based on the quilts of Gwen Marston and Freddie Moran, Judy Walker will walk us through making improv medallion and log cabin quilts from scraps and leftovers -- and the wonderful choices that can be found on our own "free table" each month!
Make a small quilt in one day -- something for the next Mini Quit Challenge, perhaps. Or get started on a small quilt for the PQG Holiday exchange.
Plus, this SOS might generate ideas for your scrappy theme quilt for the 2027 Quilt Show!
There will be lots of treasures saved from recent "free table" surplus and plenty of Christmas pieces. Plus Judy will have some scrappy "kits" that she's been saving for just an occasion like this!
SUPPLIES:
• small collection from your stash of leftovers, scraps
• a favorite small piece that you've been saving for
something special -- suitable for centerpiece
• leftover strips, extra blocks
• 12" ruler or 6" ruler
• Sewing machine, thread, standard supplies
PQG will provide irons and ironing boards, cutting mats.
We will also have paper for drawing patterns and 2-sided fusible.

FYI: The blue quilt is 4 found blocks and a small piece that had cute ducks--it was just sold in the MMQ Auction. The pink quilt started with someone's trimmings from the back of a very big quilt. All it took was unpicking the batting and small pieces from the quilt top.
