Registration Information – This is a sample (kind of) about what information you have to have when you register your quilt(s) for the show. This example is not computerized, but on the website you will click boxes and the answers you click will show up on your registration form.

Quilt #1

Quilt Title: What did you name your quilt? The name frequently reflects the pattern you used or the person you thought of while you made it.

Quilt size-Width: Measure your quilt from side to side (west to east) and record it. ALWAYS round up. If it is 47 ¼ inch wide, say 48.

Quilt size-Length: Measure your quilt from top to bottom (north to south) and record it. ALWAYS round up. If it is 62 3/16 inch wide, say 63.

Quilted by: Name your quilter. If it was you; you may type your name or leave it blank.

Additional Stitchers: This is only necessary for group quilts. If you bought squares at an estate sale, sewed them together and then had someone quilt if for you;  write “estate sale squares”, or “thrift store bounty” or whatever it is. If your grandmother started something, your mother added her touch and you finished it; honor those quilters. This is a great category for internet exchange blocks (in which case indicate you were in an internet exchange), and round robin quilts.

Pattern/Inspiration: Name the pattern and designer if possible. If you took a class (workshop/SOS), name the teacher. If you used a book, name the book and author/pattern designer. If it was in a magazine and you can see that it was a Sept/Oct1999 edition of AQS Magazine, indicate that. We want to honor those people who led us on our journey, and someone may want to look it up to make their own version! Sometimes, after a journey down a Pinterest hole, we just don’t know who created the original! Say you were inspired by a pattern on Pinterest or a photograph by Ansel Adams.

Brief Description: Tell the story of your quilt in a “Reader’s Digest Condensed Books” version. We want to know that your granddaughter’s favorite color is pink, but we don’t need to know that you painted her room pink; and then spent 3 years and traveled 8000 miles with the paint chip card to find the exactly right shade of pink; and then she only loved the color purple. You made it for your granddaughter when her favorite color was pink. Or you made it to celebrate (your celebration here). Or you fell in love with a fat quarter bundle and found the right pattern to use those fabrics. Or you used only fabric in your stash. Or you took a class and learned a new technique that led you down this path.
